The heads of Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad said the voting process is going smoothly at all polling stations on Friday, the first day of voting for Egyptian expats in the 2024 Presidential Elections.
No obstacles or violations of any kind have been recorded so far, Executive Director of the National Elections Authority (NEA) Ahmed Bendari said during a virtual meeting with heads of diplomatic missions in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Chad, Venezuela, and other countries.
Bendari followed up the voting operations at embassies and consulates via broadcast devices linked to the operations room of the National Elections Authority.
NEA is keen to closely monitor the voting progress and to receive any complaints or observations to address them immediately, Bendari said.
Up to 137 embassies and consulates across 121 countries receive voters from 09:00 to 21:00 local time on December 1-3, according to the National Elections Authority (NEA).
Voting inside Egypt will take place from December 10 to 12.
The candidates running for the presidency include Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Farid Zahran (Social Democratic Party), Abdel Sanad Yamama (Wafd Party), and Hazem Omar (Republican People’s Party).
