Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates Badr Abdel Aty and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting on the sidelines of the D8 Summit to be held in the New Administrative Capital.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed his great appreciation for the arrangements made by the Egyptian government for the D8 Summit and thanked the Egyptian Foreign Minister for the warm hospitality.
He also praised the deep-rooted and multifaceted relations between the two countries, which are based on common bonds of faith, values and cultural affinity. The two Foreign Ministers commended the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt at the bilateral and multilateral levels, and agreed to enhance political, defense, cultural and economic relations and people-to-people contacts.
The two sides also decided to work together to fully utilize the potential of trade and investment between the two countries. The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and expressed their grave concern over the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and atrocities in the West Bank.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the pivotal role played by Egypt in providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza and efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire in the occupied Strip.
The two Foreign Ministers agreed that the permanent solution to the crisis lies in the establishment of a viable and contiguous Palestinian state based on the pre-June 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to enhance political, defence, cultural and economic relations and people-to-people contacts.
The two sides also decided to work together to fully exploit their trade and investment potential. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to maintain the track of high-level contacts between the two friendly countries. They also invited Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty to visit Pakistan.
