As part of the educational trip abroad carried out by students of the Peruvian Naval Academy, the naval sailing training ship “Al-Ittihad” crossed the Suez Canal for the first time in the history of the Peruvian Navy, as it was crossing from south to north, on November 29, 2023.
During the ship’s historical crossing through the Suez Canal, Peruvian Ambassador to Cairo, José Jesus Guillermo Betancourt Ribera, boarded the ship accompanied by a committee from the Egyptian Navy headed by Colonel Amr Salah Abdel Samie, Head of Naval Base Operations in Port Said, representing the Egyptian Navy, where they settled for two hours during which they salute the officers, students and the entire ship crew.
For its part, the Embassy of Peru in Cairo thanked the leadership of the Egyptian Navy for the important and effective support and all the facilities it provided during this important event.
