Former English footballer Michael Owen, known for his aversion to films, has taken on a role in the Egyptian movie “El Hareefa 2.” Despite previously stating he dislikes movies and has watched only a few, Owen was spotted in Cairo preparing for his part in this football-themed sequel.
The original “El Hareefa,” released earlier this year, was among Egypt’s top ten highest-grossing films, focusing on a teenager’s journey in street football. This marks Owen’s second film appearance, following a cameo in “Goal II: Living the Dream” in 2007. “El Hareefa 2” premiered in Egyptian cinemas on December 4 and in other Arab countries on December 5.
