Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Tanzanian President Samia Hassan, on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai.
The spokesman for the presidency said the meeting touched on ways to strengthen joint bilateral relations at various levels, especially with regard to Egyptian investments in Tanzania, technical cooperation and capacity building to contribute to training Tanzanian cadres in various fields, in addition to Tanzania benefiting from Egyptian expertise in the field of mega projects, particularly in light of the effective Egyptian participation in the construction of the Julius Nyerere hydroelectric dam in Tanzania. The President confirmed that he was following up on the implementation stages of the project to ensure achieving the best levels of performance in accordance with the highest international standards.
The two presidents also discussed intensifying consultation mechanisms and exchanged views regarding the most prominent emerging issues on the continental arena and ways to enhance joint African action mechanisms, in addition to the prospects for maximizing cooperation between the Nile Basin countries based on the historical heritage and common ties that unite them.
