The coaching staffs of Inter and Milan have announced their starting lineups for the highly anticipated Derby della Madonnina in the Italian Super Cup final, scheduled to take place at 9 PM tonight (Monday) at Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Inter’s Starting Lineup Against Milan:
- Goalkeeper: Yann Sommer
- Defense: Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni
- Midfield: Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco
- Attack: Taremi, Lautaro Martinez
Inter vs Milan: Road to the Italian Super Cup Final
AC Milan reached the Italian Super Cup final after defeating Juventus 2-1 in the semifinal held at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan advanced to the final after a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the other semifinal at the same venue.
Inter Milan are the defending champions, having won the 2024 Italian Super Cup at the start of last year by defeating Napoli 1-0 at Al-Awwal Park, the home stadium of Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, during the 2023 Super Cup final.
Italian Super Cup Titles Record
- Juventus: Most successful club with 9 titles, last won in 2020.
- Inter Milan: 8 titles, the latest being in 2024.
- AC Milan: 7 titles.
- Atalanta: Yet to win the trophy.
This is the third time that the Milan Derby will determine the Italian Super Cup winner since the tournament’s inception in 1988.
The previous two Super Cup derbies between Inter and Milan ended as follows:
- 2011: AC Milan won 2-1 in China.
- 2023: Inter Milan triumphed 3-0 in Riyadh, with goals from Dimarco, Dzeko, and Lautaro Martinez.
The Italian Super Cup traditionally featured a match between the Serie A champions and the Coppa Italia winners. However, the format changed in 2023 to include four teams — the champions and runners-up of both Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
