The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles continue to raise concerns across the United States, prompting the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) to express gratitude to both domestic and international partners who have stepped in to assist in combating the devastating fires that have been raging in Los Angeles since last week.
In a statement posted on social media, reported by CNN on Sunday, the department expressed sincere thanks to U.S. states and countries that rushed to provide aid to California during the crisis. The department highlighted its appreciation for the valuable efforts of these partners and the support provided by land, air, and sea.
Both Canada and Mexico sent firefighting teams and equipment to help combat the Los Angeles wildfires, along with firefighting crews from several U.S. states, including Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Texas, Oregon, and Washington.
The devastating wildfires, which have been burning since last Tuesday, have caused 16 fatalities so far and destroyed an area three times the size of Manhattan. The fires have forced the evacuation of approximately 200,000 people and destroyed around 12,000 homes, with entire neighborhoods reduced to ashes.
