Liao Liqiang, the Chinese ambassador to Cairo, praised the Egyptian efforts to facilitate the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza and holding the Cairo Peace Conference.
The Chinese ambassador said in a press conference at the headquarters of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society that China intends to send large quantities of humanitarian aid, which includes food, drinking water and medical supplies to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Liqiang said that eight aid trucks arrived on November 28 and will be sent to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing.
He added that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Li emphasized his support for the Palestinian issue during his chairmanship of the recent UN Security Council meeting.
For his part, Dr. Rami Al-Nazer, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, called for opening humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The society received aid from 33 countries and 9 organizations, as well as 2,097 trucks of aid.
