By Sama Marwan,

Al Ahly’s management is putting the finishing touches on the deal to sign Brazilian Everton da Silva, a player from Czech club Ostrava, who is on the verge of joining the Cairo giants during the ongoing winter transfer window. Negotiations between Al Ahly and the Czech club have progressed significantly over the past few days, with Everton himself expressing enthusiasm about the move.

Everton is regarded as one of the top foreign players being considered for Al Ahly this January. The club’s Swiss coach, Marcel Koller, and the management have been impressed by the player’s skills and abilities.

In recent days, the two sides have come closer to finalizing the deal. Al Ahly officials have reached an agreement with their counterparts in Ostrava on all aspects of the transfer. The deal is set to cost Al Ahly $2 million (around 100 million EGP), with Everton earning $1.1 million per season. The contract will span three and a half years, starting this January.

Al Ahly is keen to strengthen its squad with several foreign signings this January, especially given the large number of players sidelined due to injuries. These include Reda Slim, Ali Maaloul, Taher Mohamed Taher, Achraf Dari, Karim Fouad, and Yahya Attiat-Allah. The team is also dealing with the departures of Kahraba and Percy Tau.
