The film Al-Hareefa 2 has achieved significant success over the past weeks, earning 971,770 EGP on Friday alone. This brought its total earnings to 117,861,464 EGP over 52 days of theatrical release.
With these earnings, Al-Hareefa 2 has climbed to fourth place in the list of highest-grossing films in Egyptian cinema history. The current top films are:
Welad Rizk 3 – 260 million EGP
Beit El Rouby – 130 million EGP
Kira & El Gin – 120 million EGP
Al-Hareefa 2 – 117 million EGP
The Blue Elephant 2 – 103 million EGP
Welad Rizk 2 – 101 million EGP
About Al-Hareefa 2 – The Comeback
The movie features a light social-comedy theme and stars Noor El-Nabawy, Kazbra, Ahmed Ghazy, Abdelrahman Mohamed, Salim El-Turk, Khaled El-Dhahabi, Nour Ehab, Noreen Abou Saada, and Donna Ema. It is written by Eyad Saleh and directed by Karim Saad. The film also includes several guest appearances by stars such as Asser Yassin, Ahmed Fahmy, former English football star Michael Owen, and sports commentator Ayman El-Kashef.
The sequel was released less than a year after the first installment premiered in January last year, which was a massive success, earning 76 million EGP at the box office.
The second part follows the young protagonists as they enter university for the first time, experiencing the excitement of campus life while returning to football. The story introduces new “talents” within their team.
Recap of Al-Hareefa Part 1
The first installment focused on Magid, a young football player who, due to family circumstances, transfers from his international school to a public school. There, he meets a diverse group of classmates and joins their football team. Together, they participate in street and youth center tournaments, dreaming of competing in a major championship with a prize of one million EGP.
