US Secretary of State Praises Moroccan King’s Leadership in Promoting Peace and Security

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised the leadership role played by Moroccan King Mohammed VI in promoting peace and security at the regional and international levels.

In a statement issued by the US State Department following a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, Rubio stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Morocco and the United States in achieving stability and security in the region and the world.

The statement also indicated that the talks between the two sides addressed many issues of great importance, including the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages, and Morocco’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

In the same context, the US Secretary expressed the United States’ desire to enhance cooperation with Morocco and work together to advance common interests between the two countries and put an end to regional conflicts.

Secretary Rubio and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita stressed the importance of enhancing trade and investment between the United States and Morocco to benefit both peoples.
