Kremlin: No Official Discussions on Deploying Peacekeeping Forces to Ukraine

By Sama Marwan,

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that no official talks have taken place regarding the deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.

In remarks reported by the Russian news agency TASS, Peskov noted that European countries, including France, Britain, and others, are currently discussing peacekeeping forces extensively. However, he emphasized that no substantial discussions have been held on the matter.

Regarding the possibility of British or German peacekeeping forces being sent to Ukraine, Peskov stated, “It is difficult to discuss this.”

He also pointed out that Britain and Germany are both NATO members, and the deployment of their troops in Ukraine would lead to significant complications.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his willingness to send British forces to Ukraine to provide security guarantees for Kyiv’s authorities in an effort to resolve the ongoing conflict.
