Egypt to Manufacture Its First Electric Car – Details and Price

By Sama Marwan,

Al-Nasr Automotive, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, is set to manufacture passenger and electric vehicles by May 2025, within 60 days, in partnership with a Chinese company, according to previous company announcements.

The upcoming locally manufactured passenger car will feature 50% local components and will be produced by Al-Nasr Automotive. It is expected to offer diverse advantages suited to the Egyptian market, including competitive pricing, likely to be lower than the current local market prices, and advanced capabilities. Additionally, it aims to compete with imported electric vehicles.

The Egyptian government has previously announced a 50,000 EGP incentive for early buyers of electric cars to encourage their adoption and expand the EV industry in the country.

According to sources, the company is working diligently to complete this highly anticipated project, especially after successfully manufacturing several electric buses.
