Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Meets with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, on Wednesday, March 12, during his visit to the Qatari capital, Doha.

The two sides discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support and advance them in various fields, particularly through working to develop economic, trade, and investment relations in line with the depth and strength of relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.

The two ministers were keen to follow up on the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo and the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah on supporting the Palestinian people. They discussed efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement and exchange hostages and detainees in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the importance of intensifying the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip and working to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also addressed ways to activate and implement the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the steps needed to mobilize the necessary funding for it, particularly in light of Egypt’s hosting of the international reconstruction conference in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government, with the attendance of donor countries and agencies.
