Vance Expresses Concern Over Potential U.S. Nuclear Weapons Transfer to Poland

By Sama Marwan,

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that he would be “shocked” if President Donald Trump supported the transfer of U.S. nuclear weapons to Poland.

During an interview with Fox News today, Vance said, “I haven’t spoken to the president about this specific issue, but I would be shocked if he supported moving nuclear weapons to Eastern Europe… We need to be cautious.”

Vance was responding to Polish President Andrzej Duda, who urged the United States to deploy nuclear weapons in Poland to deter further Russian aggression. In an interview with the Financial Times, Duda said, “I believe the time has come, and it would be safer if those weapons were already here.”

Currently, U.S. nuclear weapons are stationed in several Western European NATO member states, including Germany, Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands, as well as Turkey.
