The French newspaper Le Parisien reported that France is currently reviewing Ukraine’s request for the supply of guided missiles and drones.
According to the newspaper, outgoing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday and requested the missiles and drones.
The report stated that the supply of these weapons is “under consideration.”
The request comes in the wake of a temporary suspension by the United States of maintenance services for American-made F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine. This has led to delays in upgrading the aircraft’s electronic software.
Previously, Macron had announced that he spoke on Friday with Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the outcomes of U.S.-Ukraine talks that took place earlier in the week in Saudi Arabia.
