On Monday, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, to discuss regional developments, including Iran’s nuclear program.
According to a statement from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iwaya expressed deep concerns over the current situation, emphasizing the importance of cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Japanese Foreign Minister urged Iran to take constructive and tangible steps to advance dialogue toward a peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue. He also underscored the significance of diplomacy, stating that Tokyo will continue its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
For his part, Araghchi outlined Iran’s stance and efforts regarding the matter.
Both sides agreed to continue high-level discussions, including at the foreign ministerial level, to strengthen regional peace and stability.
