Sources close to actor Gamal Youssef have revealed that he is going through a difficult psychological phase, leading him to seriously consider retirement. He feels that the artistic landscape no longer reflects the values of the art he learned and cherished throughout his life.
According to these sources, Gamal Youssef, known for his respectable and committed approach to art, is experiencing deep frustration. He believes that art is not just a profession but a message that should contribute to building society rather than destroying it.
Youssef expressed that much of what is presented today does not align with the values he was raised on, stating:
“God did not save me from illness just to stay silent about things that are not right. Art is a message, and I cannot be part of something that harms society and faith.”
Additionally, sources revealed that Gamal Youssef has a heartfelt message for veteran actor Mohamed Sobhi, whom he considers his spiritual mentor. He said:
“Professor Mohamed Sobhi taught us what true art means and how an artist should be a role model for their audience. He is a true example of an artist who has upheld his principles despite everything. I just wish the values he instilled in us were still strongly present in the industry today.”
Despite his feelings, Youssef still holds immense love and respect for Sobhi, considering him one of the greatest artists who remained committed to the noble message of art. He hopes Sobhi’s influence continues to inspire future generations.
Meanwhile, some fellow actors and friends are trying to support and encourage Gamal Youssef to reconsider his decision, emphasizing that the industry still needs artists who uphold true artistic values and preserve its refined message.
