The White House has released a list of countries subjected to tariffs by the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump. According to the list, Russia is not among the 185 countries on which the U.S. government imposes import duties.
Washington will impose a 27% tariff on goods from Kazakhstan, which had previously imposed a 54% tariff on U.S. products. Additionally, tariffs of 31% will be placed on goods from Moldova and 10% on imports from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, tariffs will be applied to imports from Brazil (10%), the United Kingdom (10%), Israel (17%), Iraq (39%), Iran (10%), Syria (41%), Turkey (10%), and South Africa (30%).
In August 2024, Russian exports to the United States declined from $295.3 million to $84.4 million.
According to the U.S. administration, this figure is the lowest since January 1993, when it stood at $47.4 million.
Overall, the total value of Russian goods exported to the United States in 2024 amounted to approximately $3 billion, compared to $4.57 billion in 2023 and $14.44 billion in 2022. This decline is attributed to U.S. sanctions and trade restrictions imposed on Moscow.
