Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) Mokhtar Abdel Latif held talks on Wednesday with Armenian Minister of High Tech Robert Khachatryan on the sidelines of the 3rd Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2023).
Abdel Latif reviewed an AOI comprehensive vision to localise technology in Egypt and increase the percentage of local industrialisation.
Abdel Latif and Khachatryan also probed the possibility of establishing partnership with major Armenian companies and increasing investment opportunities.
The AOI chairman said the talks were positive and focused on issues of mutual concern.
Khachatryan said Armenian firms are looking forward to expanding vistas of co-operation with the AOI in various fields.
As part of its efforts to localise the latest manufacturing technologies for various defence industries, the AOI is exhibiting 45 diverse products at the EDEX, taking place in Cairo from 4-7 December.
The products, showcased at the AOI booth at Egypt’s pavilion in the exhibition, include ammunition, missiles, electronic equipment and aircraft, in addition to the latest six defence products the AOI manufactured. These munitions were produced in co-operation with the Egyptian Air Force.
