Arteta: Arsenal Has Proven It Can Compete Against Any Opponent… Ipswich Match Will Be Tough

By Sama Marwan,

Spanish coach Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, confirmed that celebrations following the Champions League win over Real Madrid are over, and the team’s full focus is now on their upcoming Premier League clash against Ipswich Town on Sunday.

In his pre-match press conference, Arteta explained that while the big Champions League victory over Real Madrid last Wednesday was a significant moment, there is no time to celebrate, as full attention must now be on the Premier League.

He said:

“We celebrated briefly. It was a wonderful evening, with many families and happy faces around. It was a great moment, but now we have to switch focus immediately to the Ipswich game in the league.”

The Arsenal manager added:

“The win in Spain showed we can compete in any context against any opponent. The next step now is to maintain consistency.”

Arteta also noted that the team will miss Jorginho for Sunday’s match, and Ricardo Clavioti is also expected to be unavailable.

Speaking about Ipswich, a team at risk of relegation to the Championship, Arteta said:

“I understand the situation they’re in right now and that they’ll be playing on home turf. For us, this is a big match, and we need to start winning our Premier League games to maintain our current position and head into the final fixtures with strong momentum.”

He continued:

“Ipswich is a very well-organized team, and what Kieran McKenna and his staff have done is fantastic. Every week we see how much trouble they cause their opponents, so we’re expecting a tough match.”
