President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the Presidency’s official spokesman, indicated that the call reviewed regional events, particularly in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian territories, in light of the politically and humanitarian delicate situation. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts and communications of calling for a ceasefire in order to protect civilians and prevent further deterioration of the terrible humanitarian conditions that inhabitants of the area are facing. President El-Sisi also reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to bring in as much humanitarian aid as possible in order to sustain and provide relief to the innocent residents of Gaza.

According to the official spokesman, the two presidents agreed to maintain serious efforts toward a ceasefire, as well as the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in this regard, emphasizing the necessity of pooling worldwide efforts to secure a just and Comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue based on a two state solution, as well as the establishment and recognition of a Palestinian state in accordance with applicable United Nations resolutions.
This was according to the spokesman for the Egyptian presidency.
