Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that Tehran would take immediate action in response to any military strikes against it.
Araqchi, in remarks reported by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, condemned Israel’s attempts to disrupt negotiations with the United States regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Araqchi stated that Israel’s belief that it can dictate what Iran must do is so far from reality that it is not even worth responding to.
He added that what is truly astonishing is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s audacity in trying to dictate to U.S. President Donald Trump what he can or cannot do regarding diplomacy with Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that Tehran is strong and has enough confidence in its ability to thwart any attempt by external parties to sabotage Iran’s foreign policy or dictate its course. He also expressed hope that his American counterparts would show the same resilience.
Araqchi pointed out that many Iranians no longer believe that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is sufficient and are seeking tangible benefits. He noted that Netanyahu’s allies in former U.S. President Joe Biden’s team cannot change this reality.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action aims to limit Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for easing international sanctions.
