Qatar’s Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, stated that his country continues to coordinate with Egypt and regional and international partners to advance toward the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He confirmed that negotiations regarding the ceasefire are ongoing and that Qatar’s goal through these efforts is to secure the release of captives and end the war in Gaza. He added that Hamas has confirmed its willingness to return all hostages.
The Qatari minister also pointed out that Qatar welcomes the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman in mediating between Iran and the United States, reflecting continued support for regional mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that the strategic partnership between Turkey and Qatar contributes to supporting regional stability. Fidan addressed the situation in Gaza, describing it as “tragic” due to Israeli escalation, stressing that his country’s priorities are to revive the ceasefire and deliver food aid to the besieged sector. He affirmed that a just solution in the region depends on the two-state solution between Palestinians and Israelis.
Regarding the Syrian crisis, Fidan stressed that the sanctions imposed on Syria hinder the achievement of stability in the country, and he announced joint efforts by Turkey and Qatar to lift these sanctions and work on purging Syria of terrorism.
During a meeting between Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Turkish Foreign Minister at the Amiri Diwan, the two sides discussed developments in Gaza and Syria, as well as the strategic relations between their countries. The Emir of Qatar held Israel responsible for violating the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreements in Gaza, reiterating Qatar’s firm stance on the Palestinian cause.
