Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, is preparing for what could be his final El Clásico against traditional rivals Barcelona, scheduled for 5:15 PM (local time) on Sunday, at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, as part of Matchday 35 of the 2024–2025 La Liga season.
Ancelotti’s El Clásico Stats
According to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Ancelotti is on the verge of his final Clásico, as he is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season to take charge of the Brazil national team.
The report states that Ancelotti has managed 19 El Clásico matches, achieving:
9 wins
10 defeats
0 draws
His team scored 37 goals and conceded 40 goals
He managed to keep a clean sheet only once
Title Race Heats Up
Reigning champions Real Madrid hope to narrow the gap to just one point behind leaders Barcelona with a win today — a must if they are to keep their title hopes alive in the remaining rounds.
Mathematically, if Barcelona win all 4 of their remaining matches, they can reach 91 points.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, cannot exceed 87 points, regardless of results.
Recent Form & Key Players
Real Madrid have shown strong form in recent weeks, winning their last three La Liga matches.
Star forward Kylian Mbappé played a vital role, scoring two goals to take his season tally to 24 goals, just one behind top scorer Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona.
