A lavish gift from Qatar to former U.S. President Donald Trump has stirred wide controversy, after American reports revealed that Trump plans to accept the gift — a flying palace valued at nearly $400 million.

The British newspaper Daily Mail published interior photos of the aircraft and revealed that the Boeing 747 includes a master bedroom, guest room, two full bathrooms with showers, nine smaller restrooms, five mini-kitchens, and a private office. The report noted that Qatar’s royal family gifted Trump this luxury jet as a potential replacement for the current Air Force One presidential aircraft. The plane, over 10 years old, is described as a fully furnished flying palace.
As the images show, if the U.S. government accepts the offer, this presidential aircraft would come with large leather sofas, reclining chairs, wood-paneled interiors, and over 40 television screens, including 10 large-screen TVs. It can seat up to 90 passengers and 14 crew members, and was previously used by Qatari royalty and government officials.
Trump had been waiting for Boeing to complete the next generation of presidential aircraft, but the troubled aerospace company has fallen behind schedule and exceeded its budget. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he intends to accept the luxury plane as a temporary presidential aircraft until the new U.S. jets are completed.
Unlike the typical Boeing 747, which accommodates over 460 passengers, this jet has only five rows of standard business-class seats, while the rest of the aircraft was renovated to feature five luxurious lounges spread across two main decks, connected by a lavish staircase.
The jet is also equipped with modern in-flight amenities such as live TV, radio, and Wi-Fi service. It is considered one of the most luxurious aircraft in the world, with reflective golden walls lining the interior aisles — a nod to Trump’s personal design taste, famously showcased in Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan.
Once the plane is officially handed over to the U.S. Department of Defense, it will undergo a comprehensive renovation to ensure it is fully equipped for presidential use. It will become the longest passenger aircraft ever used as a presidential plane, with a length of 250 feet.
