During a landmark visit to the United Arab Emirates on May 15, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that American-Emirati relations are at their highest level in history. Speaking at a joint press conference with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Trump emphasized mutual achievements in defense, technology, and the economy.
Trump praised the U.S.’s advancements in space, claiming America now leads ahead of China and Russia. He highlighted accomplishments from his first presidential term, including rebuilding the military and creating what he called “the strongest economy,” while also noting a 97% drop in food prices, lowered energy costs, and a dramatic 99.9% decrease in illegal immigration.
The visit also featured the announcement of a groundbreaking agreement that lifts previous U.S. restrictions on AI technology access for the UAE. The deal paves the way for deeper cooperation in artificial intelligence and includes a massive $1.4 trillion Emirati investment in U.S.-based tech projects over the next decade.
In a ceremonial gesture, President Trump received the Order of Zayed, the UAE’s highest civilian honor, in recognition of his efforts to bolster bilateral ties.
Regional issues were also discussed, including the conflicts in Gaza and tensions with Iran. Both leaders reiterated their shared commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
This historic visit marks a new chapter in U.S.-UAE relations, with far-reaching implications for global diplomacy, innovation, and economic growth.
