4.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Pakistan’s Swat Valley

Islamabad, Pakistan – A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck Pakistan’s Swat Valley and its surrounding areas today, Sunday, May 18, 2025, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Pakistan.

The National Centre, as reported by Pakistan’s “Samaa TV” (English version), stated that the earthquake’s epicenter was located in the Hindukush mountain range in the country’s northwest, at a depth of 205 kilometers.

The tremor, which was felt by residents in several areas of the Swat Valley, including the city of Mingora and its suburbs, caused panic among citizens. However, there have been no reports of material damage or human casualties thus far.
