Washington D.C. – The White House announced today, Monday, May 20, 2025, that President Donald Trump is actively working towards ending the war in the Gaza Strip and that there is serious effort underway to achieve a ceasefire between Moscow and Kyiv.
White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt stated during a press conference in Washington that Trump is continuing to engage in discussions with both sides of the conflict in Gaza and that he has clearly expressed his desire to end the war in the Strip.
Regarding President Trump’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, Leavitt noted that Trump succeeded in bringing significant investments during his Middle East tour, emphasizing that the world has great confidence in the U.S. economy.
The spokesperson also indicated that Trump hopes to see increased security and stability in Lebanon, particularly following recent developments related to Hezbollah and Iranian influence in the region.
Furthermore, Caroline Leavitt affirmed the U.S. administration’s commitment to preventing Iran from enriching uranium, describing this goal as a “red line” that Washington will not compromise on.
In a separate matter, the White House revealed that President Trump has not had any contact with former President Joe Biden since the latter’s cancer diagnosis.
