During a press conference on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of the International Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, organized by Morocco in partnership with the Netherlands under the theme “Sustaining Momentum for the Peace Process: Lessons Learned, Success Stories, and Next Steps,” Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Farseen Aghabekian Shahin, expressed her thanks to King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, for his efforts to support the Palestinian cause and advance the implementation of the two-state solution. She considered the convening of this meeting in Morocco to be part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to realize the State of Palestine on the ground.

The Palestinian official added, “We count heavily on these meetings and build on them,” especially since they come at a time when Palestine is experiencing extremely difficult circumstances. She emphasized that these meetings will contribute to the implementation of the two-state solution on the ground and will enrich the proceedings of the high-level conference on the two-state solution, scheduled to be held at UN headquarters in New York next June.

It is worth noting that the Rabat meeting saw the participation of delegations from more than fifty countries and international and regional organizations committed to the two-state solution from various parts of the world. The aim was to assess the record of peace efforts, evaluate success stories, and draw on the lessons learned from them to identify practical, time-bound measures that will advance progress toward the two-state solution, with a particular focus on building a Palestinian economy and society that serves the interests of the Palestinian people.
