US Secretary of State: Looking to Strengthen Relations with Eritrea

Washington D.C. – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed today, Saturday, that the United States looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Eritrea.

According to a statement published on the official website of the U.S. Department of State, the Secretary of State extended his congratulations to Eritreans worldwide on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of their country’s independence.

He expressed appreciation for the profound spirit that drives Eritrean history and culture, and for the shared interests between the two countries in promoting peace and prosperity for the Horn of Africa region.3 Rubio stated, “I look forward to strengthening our relationship with the people and government of Eritrea in the coming years.”
