The Russian capital, Moscow, is preparing to host the 13th International Meeting of Senior Security Officials, which will take place from May 27 to 29, 2025. It will be chaired by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu.
This year’s meeting is gaining international attention, with invitations extended to representatives from more than 150 countries from the Global South and the East, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Leaders and representatives from more than 20 international organizations are also expected to attend, reflecting the importance of this event as a platform for global security dialogue.
The meeting’s agenda focuses on strengthening international security cooperation in light of escalating regional and international challenges, including international terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, and illicit drug trafficking. It will also discuss emerging security threats facing the international community.
It is worth noting that the Russian National Security Council has been organizing these international meetings since 2010. They serve as a strategic platform for exchanging views and coordinating security policies among countries, and for exploring ways to develop collective mechanisms to confront growing global threats, thus contributing to the consolidation of international peace and security.
