Trump Signs Executive Orders to Boost US Nuclear Energy Production

By Sama Marwan,

Washington D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump has signed several executive orders aimed at boosting nuclear energy production in the United States.

Trump ordered the independent Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to reduce regulations and accelerate the issuance of new licenses for reactors and power plants. The goal is to slash a process that currently takes several years down to just 18 months.

“Now is the time for nuclear energy,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum added that the challenge is to “produce enough electricity to win the AI duel with China.”
