The official spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed that New Delhi is closely cooperating with Washington on issues related to illegal immigration.
The Indian news agency ANI reported today that the ministry’s spokesperson said:
“We are working closely with the United States on immigration issues, especially concerning the deportation of Indian nationals—whether they entered the U.S. illegally or are currently in the country under unlawful status. We will repatriate them once we receive their details.”
He added that around 1,080 Indians have returned to their country or have been deported from the United States. He also noted that about 62% of those individuals returned to India via commercial flights.
