On another note, the global football site Goal.com praised the outstanding performances of Omar Marmoush, who joined Manchester City during the last winter transfer window from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €75 million.
The site said:
“The Egyptian star made a fantastic impact since joining in January, filling the gap left by Julián Álvarez and easing the pressure on Erling Haaland.”
It added:
“He had impressive numbers in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt and wasted no time proving himself at Manchester City, scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle United in just his third match.”
It continued:
“He should have scored more in Haaland’s absence, and it’s hard to forget the missed penalty in the FA Cup Final. Still, he entered the Goal of the Season competition with a convincing case, thanks to his rocket goal against Bournemouth, which thrilled the Etihad crowd.”
Marmoush received a 7/10 rating in Goal’s player rankings for Manchester City this season, placing him third behind Gvardiol and Haaland.
