American sports are heating up with major league finals and various tournaments across the country.
The NBA Finals have commenced, with the Indiana Pacers taking an early lead in Game 1 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Basketball fans are keenly following this best-of-seven series.
In golf, the DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA Tour are hosting various tournaments, including the KLM Open and the RBC Canadian Open, drawing attention from golf enthusiasts.
Soccer is also in full swing, with NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) games featuring Kansas City against N.J.-N.Y., and Portland against Bay. MLS (Major League Soccer) action includes D.C. United returning home to face Chicago Fire FC after a recent win.
Baseball is seeing college play, with Coastal Carolina University’s team securing a victory against Auburn. The MLB is also in action, with the Cincinnati Reds’ game against the Arizona Diamondbacks being suspended due to rain and set to resume later.
Local high school sports are also active, with Batesville winning the IHSAA boys golf sectional championship for the first time since the ’95-’96 season.
