Amazon Halts Shipping to Israel

By Sama Marwan ,

Online retail giant Amazon has informed consumers in Israel that it has stopped accepting new orders due to the country’s airspace remaining largely closed since the conflict with Iran began on June 13.

In a statement, the company said: “Due to local restrictions beyond our control, we are currently unable to accept new orders or deliver to your area.” It added, “We will resume our services as soon as conditions allow.”

Since the beginning of the conflict with Iran, Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv has remained largely closed to incoming and outgoing commercial flights, as well as inbound and outbound cargo flights.

In recent days, Israeli airlines have been allowed to operate limited daily flights to bring Israelis home and help those stranded in the country to leave.

Following the ceasefire agreement that came into effect earlier this morning, Israel is preparing to fully resume operations at Ben Gurion Airport and gradually restore flight services, pending approval from the defense establishment.
