Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, affirmed today, Wednesday, that the Israeli-American aggression violates international laws.
In his speech during the 59th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Bahreini said: “The recent Israeli and American military aggression on Iranian territory constitutes a blatant violation of the principles of international law and human rights,” according to Iran’s Al-Alam channel.
He added that these attacks have led to the martyrdom of more than 630 Iranian citizens, including dozens of women and children, explaining that Israel, with direct support from the United States, targeted civilian infrastructure, healthcare centers, residential areas, and even peaceful nuclear facilities in Iran.
Bahreini described the silence of some Western countries regarding these attacks as a “clear moral failure,” stressing that Iran rejects human rights recommendations issued by these countries and reiterating Iran’s commitment to its legitimate right to defend its people and sovereignty.
Bahreini called on the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to take a clear and explicit stance against the recent attacks on Iran and to hold the United States and Israel accountable for violating international law, endangering civilians’ lives, and threatening international peace and security.
