Jonathan Ederström, the director of Swedish club IK Sirius, revealed that the club is closely following the ongoing speculation regarding the potential departure of Wessam Abou Ali—currently a striker for Al Ahly SC—during the current summer transfer window, as the club retains a percentage from any future resale.

Speaking to the Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, Ederström said:
“We have a percentage in Wessam Abou Ali’s resale. The agreement is confidential, so I can’t discuss details, but yes, there are potential benefits we would receive from his sale, and there are other clauses tied to his performance. We’re in a good position.”
The Swedish website further explained that Wessam Abou Ali has received a $7 million offer from Al Wasl in the UAE, as well as another offer from Qatari club Al Rayyan. However, Al Ahly has reportedly demanded $10 million—approximately 95 million Swedish kronor—to approve the sale of the Palestinian forward.
Al Rayyan and Al Wasl Interested in Signing Abou Ali
Wessam Abou Ali has received a verbal promise from Al Ahly’s management that he would be allowed to leave during the current transfer window, provided an offer that meets the club’s financial expectations arrives—specifically, no less than $10 million.
Although Al Ahly officials recently announced that Abou Ali will remain with the club and rejected his departure, both the player and his agent have not ruled out a return to Europe or a move to the U.S. They have spoken with the club about the possibility of leaving if a suitable offer comes in, especially considering that the player has received numerous offers from Europe, the U.S., and the Gulf region.
Al Ahly management has informed the Palestinian striker that the team still needs his services and thus rejected all current offers. However, Abou Ali remains insistent on leaving. He told the club that while he understands their need for his contribution, he personally desires a transfer.
The player emphasized that he had previously turned down offers from Europe and the Gulf in loyalty to the club’s wishes. He also stressed his full commitment to Al Ahly’s rules and directives ever since joining from IK Sirius in January 2024. During his time at the Cairo-based club, he has won numerous domestic and continental titles.
Wessam also assured Al Ahly that he will attempt to secure external offers higher than the latest $5 million bid received. Should a more lucrative offer arrive, he will ask the club to approve his exit. If not, he is willing to remain with the team—and he is also open to renegotiating and improving the terms of his current contract with Al Ahly.
