Google has announced the global launch of its Veo 3 AI-powered video generation model, now available to users of the Gemini platform in over 159 countries worldwide.
Currently, Veo 3 is accessible only to subscribers of the paid Google AI Pro plan, with a daily limit of three videos per user.

Veo 3 can generate video clips up to eight seconds long based on text prompts. The model was first introduced in May during the company’s developer conference.
Josh Woodward, a Google executive, revealed that the company is developing a new feature that will enable video creation from images within the Gemini platform.
Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, also hinted at the potential future use of Veo 3 in video game development. Responding to a comment from a user on X who asked whether Veo videos could be transformed into playable worlds, Hassabis replied, “Wouldn’t that be amazing?” — a remark seen as a hint toward ambitions that extend beyond mere video generation.
Later, Logan Kilpatrick, Product Lead at Google AI Studio, made similar comments, though an official Google spokesperson clarified to TechCrunch that the company has no formal announcements on this front at the moment.
While Veo 3 produces realistic clips that mimic physical motion in the real world, it’s not yet considered a fully general-purpose model. True “world models” simulate environmental dynamics and enable digital entities to interact and anticipate responses — a crucial foundation for interactive gaming experiences.
Google is working in this direction through its multimodal Gemini 2.5 Pro model, aiming to develop a system capable of mimicking the cognitive processes of the human brain.
Last December, DeepMind unveiled Genie 2, a model capable of generating infinite playable worlds, and in January announced the formation of a dedicated team to develop AI models simulating the real world.
Google is not alone in this race; other companies such as Microsoft, Runway, Pika, Scenario, and OpenAI with its Sora model are also striving to develop next-generation video technologies and interactive worlds.
Thanks to its vast financial resources and global reach, Google may be well positioned to strengthen its foothold in this rapidly evolving market, compelling competitors to closely track its progress.
