The round table entitled “Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union… Prospects for Cooperation” was held at the Egypt Public Library, which was organized by the Russian Embassy in Cairo and the Al-Hiwar Center for Strategic and Media Studies within the framework of the Russian presidency in this union in 2023.
The event was attended by prominent Egyptian economists, political scientists, journalists, diplomats and businessmen.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin made welcoming statements via video conference, noting the traditionally close nature of interaction between Moscow and Cairo, including within the framework of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and Egypt.
He pointed out that the negotiation process to prepare a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Bloc and Egypt is currently going through an advanced stage, which will contribute to increasing the growth of the volume of mutual trade.
