President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, the call reviewed the most recent developments in the Gaza Strip. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to reach a ceasefire and let sufficient humanitarian aid into the country. He spoke of the dire consequences of the current scenario, which would have humanitarian, security, and regional stability consequences. President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of the international community fulfilling its responsibilities, particularly in terms of implementing international legitimacy resolutions, such as those of the UN Security Council and General Assembly. In addition, he lauded the Secretary-General’s efforts in this area.

Guterres, for his part, praised Egypt’s efforts to halt the massacre and reaffirmed his commitment to working with Egypt to resolve the ongoing crisis and promote regional stability.
