The Ambassador of Belgium in Cairo: Egypt is a country open to the world and has an important role in the Middle East

Ambassador François Cornet, Ambassador of the State of Belgium to Egypt, met with Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, to discuss ways of cooperation between Belgium and Aswan Governorate.

During the meeting, the Governor of Aswan reviewed the economic, tourism and investment components that characterize the Mashati bride in light of the unique diversity in mining and quarry wealth, energy sources and tourism patterns, stressing the depth and strength of relations between the countries of Egypt and Belgium, which was embodied in President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recent visit to the Belgian state. His meeting with King Philip Leopold reflects the interconnectedness and compatibility between the two countries in all fields, as they love peace.

He pointed to coordination to increase aspects of cooperation during the coming period by signing a twinning agreement with one of the Belgian cities, and increasing the rates of tourist traffic, especially during the winter season, to enjoy the many components and the aesthetic panorama that Aswan has become, and to learn about the successive achievements that the Egyptian state is also making on its land. Through implementing unprecedented projects in presidential initiatives such as a decent life, comprehensive health insurance, and digital transformation, which contributed to Aswan obtaining many international, regional, and local awards.

While the Ambassador of the State of Belgium thanked the Governor of Aswan for the warm reception and informing him of all the capabilities that this governorate possesses, stressing that Egypt is a country open to the world and has a civilization and history. It is considered a friendly country and is interested in consolidating stability. We have all appreciation and respect for it, and it has an important role. In the Middle East.

At the end of the meeting, the Governor of Aswan presented the governorate’s shield to the Belgian ambassador in appreciation and pride in the friendly relations between the two sides.
