Speaker of the Arab Parliament: We denounce the inability of the international community to stop the brutal aggression of the Israeli occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people

Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, renewed the Arab Parliament’s support and support for the Palestinian issue as it is the first and central Arab issue, addressing the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, for their steadfastness, struggle and continuous struggle to regain their land and their inalienable and legitimate rights, and to guarantee the right of return for refugees. The Palestinians, and the embodiment of their freedom and inalienable rights, most important of which is the establishment of their independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.

This came in his speech during the opening of the Palestine Committee meeting held today in preparation for the Arab Parliament’s session on Palestine scheduled for tomorrow under the title “Supporting Palestine and Gaza,” with the participation of a number of Arab and international figures, to discuss and discuss developments in the war on Gaza and the dangerous escalation in the West Bank.

Al-Asoumi stressed that the Arab Parliament is closely following the humanitarian catastrophe and tragedy resulting from the brutal and barbaric aggression of the occupying power (Israel) in the Gaza Strip, and today we are entering the 83rd day of the aggression, of the comprehensive war of annihilation that the Gaza Strip is witnessing, through mass massacres, where the number of martyrs has exceeded So far, more than 21,000 civilian martyrs and more than 6,500 are missing, more than 70% of whom are women and children, and the number of wounded has exceeded more than 56,000 wounded in one of the most heinous war crimes and crimes against humanity throughout history.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament denounced the continued intransigent Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip and the cutting off of all vital services to the people, including water, electricity and food supplies, and the indiscriminate killing in the West Bank and Jerusalem by Israeli leaders and settlers, its bloody escalation against the Palestinian people, the escalation in the pace of extremist settler attacks, and the killing operations against Palestinian citizens. Their property was burned under the protection of the occupation forces.

He said that the Arab Parliament has not and will not hesitate to support the Palestinian cause, since the first day of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023 AD, indicating that the Parliament is in permanent session, with emergency meetings, and continuous movement in all international and parliamentary forums, the latest of which is filing a lawsuit with the Attorney General of the Court. The International Criminal Court, and asking it to investigate war crimes committed by the occupying power (Israel) and its officials, in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and hold them accountable.

Al-Asoumi stressed that the Arab Parliament will continue its work at all levels until the Palestinian people achieve their full rights, most notably the establishment of their independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.
