In the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the preparatory committee for the World Youth Festival, which will be held in Russia in March 2024, concluded its work after completing the meetings that took place with the youth candidates.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi praised the evaluation procedures by the committee and the selection of participants, which are carried out in a transparent manner, noting that the festival is a real opportunity for Egyptian youth to interact with the youth of the world and exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences in various fields as well as promoting global understanding at the youth level. He also stressed that the Ministry is keen to Developing youth exchange programs with various countries.
The committee included Engineer Ahmed Barani, a graduate of the Presidential Program, as “Chairman,” Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports for Youth Policies and Development, as “Rapporteur,” Sherif Gad, President of the Russian and Soviet University Graduates Association, as “Secretary-General,” and Dr. Naji Al-Shehabi, Head of the Generation Party, as “Member.” Major General Ismail Al-Far, Head of the Youth Sector, and Dr. Mustafa Magdy, Assistant Minister for Policy, also attended.
For his part, Engineer Ahmed Barani pointed out that Egypt ranks first in the Arab world in terms of the number of registered youth, which has reached 4,500 young people.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash stressed that the Egyptian state is keen on the distinguished Egyptian participation, and the Ministry will organize a special program as part of the preparation for the delegation before travel.
Dr. Nagy Al-Shehabi pointed out that all indicators confirm the strength of this session in light of the support of the Egyptian state.
Sherif Gad, the official spokesman for the Preparatory Committee, pointed out the great effort made by the members of the committee to receive this large number of young people, as the work extended on some days until late hours.
Gad praised the extreme excellence of advanced youth, as the majority enjoyed abundant information, mastery of languages, awareness of technology, and extensive knowledge.
