Omani tourism achieves high indicators in the goals of Vision 2040 with about 2.9 million visitors

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the Sultanate of Oman achieved high indicators in the goals of the Oman 2040 vision, as the target was to reach 33,000 hotel rooms by the end of 2025 AD, while the Ministry’s statistics indicate that the achieved indicator reached 32,371 hotel rooms by the end of September 2023 AD.

The target for the number of tourists is 2.5 million tourists by the end of 2023, and this target was exceeded, bringing the number of visitors by the end of last October to 2.9 million visitors. The target percentage of tourism’s contribution to the domestic product at constant prices for the year 2025 is 2.75 percent, and this target was approached, as the percentage of tourism’s contribution reached The GDP at constant prices for the year 2022 is about 2.4 percent.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism works to employ statistical figures in a systematic manner to produce indicators that support tourism decision-making on the one hand and achieve the directions of the heritage and tourism sectors in the vision (Oman 2040).

On the other hand, the Ministry conducts a comprehensive evaluation on a quarterly basis of the plans and programs related to the goals of (Oman 2040) and compares them with the achieved statistical indicators that help in implementing tourism plans and initiatives.
