Liverpool defeated Newcastle United in the 20th round of the Premier League, which was played at Anfield. Liverpool defeated Newcastle 4-2 in the Premier League.
Salah began the game by missing a penalty after Dubravka saved it in the 22nd minute. Then, Isak scored ,but his goal was disallowed due to offside. The first half finished in a stalemate.
However, Liverpool came out of the halftime determined to reverse the situation. Salah made revenge for his missed penalty by scoring the game’s first goal in the 49th minute, following a cross from Nunez. Isak scored for Newcastle in the 54th minute.
Liverpool took the lead again in the 74th minute after a well-organized effort concluded with a cross from Jota that Jones followed into the net.
Similarly, Gakpo added the third in the 78th minute to secure the Reds’ lead after Salah’s superb creation provided Gakpo with an easy ball to put with a touch into goal.
Newcastle felt they could make a comeback by scoring their second goal and closing the distance through Botman from a corner that he was able to interpret with his head, But Liverpool came back and increased the lead after earning a penalty, which Salah converted into a goal to make it 4-2.
Liverpool won the match, lifting them to the top of the league with 45 points, three points ahead of their nearest rivals, Newcastle United, who are in ninth place with 29 points.
