The United States announced its rejection of the recent statements issued by Israeli Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir calling for the resettlement of Palestinians outside the Gaza Strip.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement that the statements of the two Israeli ministers were inflammatory and irresponsible.
The US State Department spokesman added: The Israeli government, including through its president, has repeatedly and consistently expressed to us that the statements do not reflect government policy, continuing: We should stop making any similar statements immediately.
The spokesman added: Our position is clear, consistent and unequivocal that the Gaza Strip is Palestinian territory and will remain so without the Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas” controlling its future and without terrorist groups being able to threaten Israel.
He continued: This is the future that we seek to achieve, for the benefit of the Israelis, the Palestinians, the neighboring region, and the world.
