Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, witnessed the Armenian Orthodox celebration of the Birthday of Jesus Christ, headed by Bishop Ashod Mnatskanyan, the Armenian Orthodox Bishop of Egypt, at the Armenian Orthodox Church on Ramses Street, on behalf of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister.
The Governor of Cairo extended his Eid congratulations, praying that the Eid would be a happy one for all Egyptians, and that peace, love and tolerance be perpetuated in the homeland.
The Governor of Cairo stressed that the spirit of love, cohesion and interdependence that brings together all sects of the Egyptian people is manifested in its brightest form in Egypt, and sets an example and role model for tolerance between religions, stressing that Egyptians are one fabric, and partners in one structure, and that Egypt will always remain a country of security and safety. Thanks to the unity of the Egyptian people in facing all challenges to complete the development process.
The Governor of Cairo had issued instructions to the heads of neighborhoods to intensify cleaning campaigns and remove occupancy in the vicinity of churches, in preparation for the Coptic brothers’ Christmas celebrations.
The Governor of Cairo also called for raising the efficiency of the streets surrounding churches, and ensuring that street poles are illuminated and operate efficiently.
The governor also stressed the removal of all dilapidated and abandoned cars on the streets and absolutely not allowing any cars to wait in the vicinity of churches.
