The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, arrived today, Sunday, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, on an official visit in response to the invitation of his brother, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He was received in the presidential lounge at Cairo International Airport by the Egyptian Minister of Justice, Counselor Omar Marwan, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh, and the staff of the Embassy of the State of Palestine, the Delegation of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, and the Consulate General of the State of Palestine in Alexandria.
Ambassador Diab Al-Louh said that a summit meeting will bring together President Mahmoud Abbas with his brother, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to discuss ways of bilateral cooperation in order to immediately and sustainably stop the genocidal war waged by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinian people throughout the Palestinian territories, as well as to discuss Egyptian efforts. Arab, regional and international efforts are being made to deal with the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip in light of the Israeli aggression that has been continuing for three months, to prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land to outside it, and to stop the attacks and crimes of the occupation forces and its settlers on the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Ambassador Diab Al-Louh stressed that the visit aims to enhance consultation and permanent bilateral cooperation between the two presidents regarding multiple and common issues at the Arab, regional and international levels and forums. It also aims to make the tireless efforts made by sister Egypt and a number of brotherly and friendly countries successful, to stop the war of genocide and open a political horizon conducive to… To end the Israeli occupation and embody the independent, fully sovereign, geographically contiguous Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, under the umbrella and leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people inside and outside Palestine.
The Palestinian President is accompanied during the visit by the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, the head of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Majid Faraj, the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Magdi Al-Khalidi, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh.
